Daniel Ballesteros is a photographer living and working out of Richmond, California. He has taught photography at the University of Connecticut and St. Joseph’s College in Brooklyn, NY, and has been artist-in-residence at the Woodstock Center for Photography, the Camera Club of New York and Kala Institute. In 2016 he began the ongoing Witness Trees project photographing trees in American cities that have stood as witness to gun-related homicides. Since 2022 he has been photographing his adopted home in Richmond and the surrounding area.
